Mary Coleman, Administrator
Mary Coleman is a lifelong resident of Pendleton County. She graduated from Pendleton Co. High School in 1991. She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a degree in social work/sociology and has been a social worker for more than 15 years. She started at River Valley in 2012. Mary has assumed the role as Administrator in August, 2016. Mary has years of valuable experience working in long-term care. She knows from personal experience how difficult it is placing your loved one in long-term care, but has seen firsthand how the staff love and care for residents just like family.
Mary finds having an opportunity to build personal relationships with our residents and community very rewarding. She loves spending time with her niece going shopping, going to the movies and talking fashion.
Rebecca Hughes, Director of Nursing
Rebecca is from Pendleton County, she graduated from Pendleton County in 2000 with a GED. She attended Maysville Community and Technical College and earned her state registered nursing assistant certificate, her Kentucky medication aide certificate, her associates in applied science and registered nursing licenses. Rebecca attended Chamberlain University and earned her bachelor degree in applied sciences.
River Valley was her first job at the age of 16 as a SNA. She started her family at the age of 20. She raised her kids and at the age of 30 came back to River Valley as a SRNA on third shift for nearly 4 years. Rebecca then worked as a KMA while attending nursing school. After she graduated she worked as a floor nurse doing skins and wound care. After that she moved into the infection control position. Rebecca is now the Director of Nursing.
Rebecca says nothing could have been possible without the amazing support and encouragement from her fiance’ and her kids.
Marie Witham, Quality Assurance/Infection Control
Marie has lived in Pendleton County since 1986. She graduated from Pendleton County High School in 1993. Marie began her career as a nurse in 2008 as an LPN. She later went back to college in January of 2010, double majoring in nursing and applied science. She earned her associates degree in 2013. Currently she is enrolled in Aspen Online University, working towards her bachelor’s degree, with plans to transfer to NKU for her master’s in nursing, specializing in family practice.
Marie has worked at River Valley as a CNA, LPN, RN in the past and has been full time at River Valley since 2017 as a floor nurse.
Heather Lopez, MDS Coordinator
Heather was born in Pendleton County, but grew up in Bracken County. She graduated from Bracken County High School in 1992. Heather has worked in long term care since 1992. She became a LPN in 1996. She graduated in 2013 with Associates in Applied Sciences and obtained her RN license. Heather will graduate in October 2018 with her BSN. She has worked at River Valley from 2005-2014 as a charge nurse and from 2016 to present as an MDS nurse. She currently lives in Butler with her husband, Norberto, and her 2 children, Evan (15) and Elizabeth (10).
Carrie Bolen, MDS Clerk/Medical Records
Carrie is a Pendleton County native and where she currently resides with her husband Phillip and two daughters Morgan and Sara. She is a 1987 Pendleton Memorial High School graduate. Her past experiences include a store cashier, catering, data entry, receptionist and a small business owner/operator in Pendleton County and surrounding areas.
She Then felt the call to help others and went back to school and got an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting from Brown Mackie College in 2005. She worked for a temp service but wanted a permanent work home. While finishing her nurse aid certification, She applied to River Valley for a C.N.A position and has been at River Valley since 2006. A year later she started working in medical records and then a year later started working in the MDS department. She loves to start her work day by getting greeted by our residents and their smiles.
Rebecca Saunders, CNA Supervisor
Rebecca was raised in Alexandria, Ky. She attended Campbell Co. High School. She moved to Pendleton Co. in 2010. Rebecca earned her associate of Science-Surgical Technology in 2009. She was a surgical tech at Carroll Co. Memorial Hospital from 2009-2011, she has 5 years of sterile processing experience (U.C. Health, St. Elizabeth Medical Center). Rebecca joined the staff at River Valley in June of 2016. She attended class for CNA certification and became a CNA in September 2016.
Stacey Hobday, Life Enrichment
Stacey has have lived in Falmouth all of her life. She graduated from Pendleton County Memorial High School in 1991.
In 2013 she went to Rosedale Green to take the CNA certification class. She then decided to go Maysville Community College to get her KMA (Kentucky Medication Aid), She continued to work at Rosedale Green full time until Oct 2015 when she joined River Valley Nursing home as a full time KMA and started working at Rosedale PRN.
In September 2018 she applied to be the Life Enrichment (Activities Director) and she truly believes she has the best job. Anytime you can make a resident smile, laugh or remember something they have done in their past it is truly the best feeling in the world to her.
She married her husband after many years together in 2016. We have 6 kids and 7 grand kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, going camping, and riding motorcycle.
Priscilla Gravett, Dietary/Environmental Services
Priscilla was born and raised in Pendleton County. She graduated from Pendleton County High School in 2001. In 2007 she started working at BB’s Superstore as a cashier, three years later she was promoted to general manager. In 2017 she accepted the position of dietary manager at River Valley and in 2018 started managing the environmental services as well. Priscilla looks forward to serving our residents for many years to come.
Priscilla has been married since 2003 and she and her husband have two wonderful teenagers that the lord has blessed them with.
Vickie Carr, Receptionist
Vickie has lived in Pendleton Co. her whole life. She graduated from Pendleton County High School in 1978.
She started working at First National Bank in June 1978 then the bank was purchased by 5/3 bank in 2004. She continued to work for 5/3 until the branch was closed in February 1997 shortly before the 97 flood. She started working for LVO in March 20, 1997 until she was transferred to River Valley Nursing Home March 30, 2006. River Valley is a perfect fit as she loves the residents and enjoys greeting the families who come to visit them.
She and her husband Steve live in the country near Morgan with their spoiled rotten Sheltie named Bailey, who’s favorite past time is to bark at the horses and deer that are across the road and to chase anything the full length of the yard that has wheels that goes past, her favorite is tractors and wagons.
She is very active in her church (Blanket Creek Baptist) She is a children’s Sunday School teacher and helps with the youth group. One of her passions is volunteering at Fairhaven Rescue Mission a Christian based men’s homeless shelter in Covington, KY. This is where she and her husband volunteer to feed the men, lead in worship and bring the message of Christ. Every time they go they fill the church van with donations of clothing, shoes and food people from the nursing home and people in the community will drop off to her. They have been going for the past 8 years and never had a time that they didn’t have something to take.
Jessica Brill, Coordinater
Jessica has always lived in Pendleton Co. She graduated high school in 2005 from Pendleton County Memorial High. She continued her education and graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2014, with a degree in Organizational Leadership/Psychology. She started working at River Valley in November 2006 as an SRNA. She continued working throughout college. She began doing nursing staffing as coordinator in March 2015. She also worked in mds/medical records briefly that same year. Jessica is currently titled as Coordinator.
She loves interacting with the residents. She enjoys devoting her time to help with activities. Her love for River Valley is expressed through her smile. She is told by Kelly Griffith that she is the ‘Wearer of Many Hats.’
In her free time, She spends time with her family Tony (significant other), Rielee(daughter, 13), Hunter(son, 7), and Easton(son, 5).
Tonya Wolfe, Physical Therapy Assistant
Tonya is a Lifelong resident of Pendleton county. She lives in Peach Grove area with her husband and 2 daughters and dog Sadie. Tonya graduated from Pendleton County High School in 1990. Tonya attended Northern Ky University for 1 year (1990-1991) and transferred to University of Cincinnati (1991-1993). She obtained a degree from the College of Allied Health/ Physical Therapy Assistant program in May 1993. Tonya has worked in several areas of physical therapy, from pediatrics, orthopedic and sport medicine, home health and geriatrics.
Tonya started at River Valley as a full time LPTA in September 2008. Was promoted rehab director in 2014.
She is married to Greg Wolfe. They just celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary. They have 2 daughters, Ashten, 23 and Allison, 19. They are active members of Butler Baptist Church.
Stephanie Ziegler, Occupational Assistant
Stephanie grew up in Camp Springs and she currently resides in Alexandria. She graduated form Campbell County High School. She graduated in 2009 from Gateway Community and Tech College with an Associates Degree for Massage Therapy. Stephanie went back to school and graduated in 2014 from Brown Mackie with an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy.
She has been in the Long Term Care setting for about 12 years. She has been at River Valley for a little over 4 years now as a certified Occupational Therapist.
Stephanie’s family includes my boyfriend Shawn and our two children: Quinten 9 and Caty Mae 7.
Julie Piller, Occupational Therapist
Julie graduated from Cleveland State University, in 1988, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. Julie has more than 30 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist working in Adult Mental Health, Geriatric Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency, Skilled Rehabilitation and Long Term Care. Julie has been the Supervising Occupational Therapist at River Valley Nursing Home since 2014.
Julie and her husband have been residents of Campbell County for 24 years. They currently live in California. Julie and Andy have been married for 27 years and have 2 grown daughters, Grace(26) and Leah(24), and 2 grand dogs.
Jennifer D’Alessandro, Physical Therapist
Jennifer is a physical therapist at River Valley. She is from Alexandria, KY and she graduated from Bishop Brossart High School in 1998. She attended the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, OH receiving her Bachelor of Rehabilitative Science in 2001 and Masters of Physical Therapy in 2002. She has been working at River Valley since about 2006. In her free time she and her husband enjoy spending time with their two boys who love sports.
Sharon Cross, Speech Therapist
Sharon is originally from Sandy Hook, KY. She graduated from Elliott County High School in 1987. Sharon has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University, May 1991. A Master of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University, December 1992. She received the outstanding Student Clinician Award in 1991 and 1992. She has a certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association, 1993-present. Sharon has 25+years of experience as a Speech/Language Pathologist in long-term care, acute care, rehabilitation hospitals, and school systems. She has been the primary Speech/Language Pathologist at River Valley since January 2008. She lives in Cold Spring, KY with her two sons Logan (17) and Ethan (15), and her dog Ava.
David Bay, President
David grew up in Pendleton County Kentucky graduating from PC High School in 1981. He has a Bachelor’s degree in music education from University of Kentucky (1985) and a Master’s degree in Education from Xavier University (2011). David is active in the U.K. Alumni band that performs during Christmas break at the basketball games and one football game each year. After graduating from U.K. David moved to Covington, KY and was the band director at Holmes High School. From 1985 to 1988 Holmes placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd at every marching band competition. The bands won honors in concert band performances and in 1987 the Holmes Junior High band competed at the state senior high concert band competition; they were the only Junior High band ever to compete and make it to state as a high school band in Kentucky. In 1988 David left teaching and started in the family businesses. Over the years he has operated several businesses including convenience stores, restaurants (fast food and sit down), heating oil and farm gas sales, video rentals, commercial lubricant sales, graphics, real estate sales, property rentals, consulting and skilled nursing care. Today David has over 100 employees.
David is a founding board member and Former President of Northern Kentucky Baseball, the largest youth baseball league in Kentucky and the largest youth sports league in Northern Kentucky with over 4,000 kids playing every year. After 17 years as a volunteer in youth baseball he retired from this position in late 2017.
David and his wife Tina have 3 boys. Morgan (1995) is a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Business Finance and minoring in Music on Trumpet. Spencer (1997) is a senior at Rice University in Houston and is majoring in Music Performance on French Horn. Robert (2001) is a junior at Campbell County High school where he is goalie on the Varsity soccer team, he plays French Horn in the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra and school band.
Kathy Banfield, Vice President
Kathy is a life-long resident of Pendleton Co. She grew up on a farm on Jagg Rd and graduated from Pendleton County High School in 1980. She was assistant manager at Druther’s in Williamstown KY from 1980 to 1984, then worked at Dr. Scholl’s in Falmouth from 1984 to 1986 doing shipping and receiving. In 1986 she started working at the First National Bank in Falmouth doing book-keeping, bank teller and loan department. In 1990 she began working at LVO doing convenient store auditing, data entry, then dispatching. She was promoted to office manager, then Vice President.
In 2017 Kathy began work at River Valley still as Vice President. She still resides in Pendleton County with her husband Jeff and their son Luke. She enjoys spending time with family and friends fishing and camping.
Kelly Griffith, Office Manager
Kelly grew up in Covington, KY and attended Holmes High School. She managed Burger King then relocated and moved to Falmouth to manage Hardee’s from 1990 to 1997. In 2002 Kelly began work at LVO with Kathy Banfield and David Bay. Over the years she handled all aspects of of the business functions of LVO. In 2017 Kelly began work at River Valley as the business office manager. She resides in the country outside of Falmouth with her family. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, she loves to laugh, loves listening to music, watching movies and comedians. Kelly has also mastered the art of sarcasm, reports David Bay.
